There used to be ...

There used to be a much bigger river bank, a lot more trees, a split-rail fence, and a lovely trail alongside the river. Unfortunately erosion and a flooding river caused so much damage that it is now necessary to build a retaining wall. Looks a mess, doesn't it? I hope they know what they are doing.
