Sunny Sunday sailing

Eventually the wind and rain stopped; Mid afternoon on the day after the forecast predicted that it would stop. I took this photo just before heading down to see if the birds were enjoying the sun as much as the sailors. As I sit here posting this, the rain has started again, something the kotare (one of which is my extra for today) seemed to know. This one flew up from the stones to hide in full view in a pohutukawa tree. Later, when the sky began to darken (and I decided to head back to avoid a wet camera) a number of other kotare flew past heading for the trees and banks.
