Dolly, Q and the avocado

Lewis' filthy hipster avocado habit caused a bit of panic this evening and a call to the emergency vet! We heard some commotion in the kitchen, found Q on the table, and a couple of mouthfuls missing from an avocado in the fruit bowl! A quick google revealed avocados are poisonous to rabbits and cause heart failure and death, not good! Lewis called the vet who thought that she probably hasn't eaten enough of it to cause a problem, if she'd eaten the whole thing it would have been a different story! She said we should watch her closely overnight and call back if things deteriorated, so we gave her a big helping of kale to try help it get through her system and Lewis got up to check in her a few times during the night! Thankfully she was fine this morning, and I'm relieved as it wasn't that long ago she gave us a big scare like this! I don't like avocados so I think it's probably safer not to have them in the house, or Lewis will need to just eat them as soon as he buys them!
