Bright and Shiny

For several weeks the pine table in our conservatory has been undergoing a bit of TLC. It badly needed a new surface on the top so it was sanded down and has been getting coats of a wax varnish applied. Today we decided that it was as good as it was going to get and put the table back into use. It looks very smart.

I have been out all afternoon rehearsing Verdi's Requiem for a performance next week in Watford. This work requires huge resources...large choir, strong soloists and a massive orchestra. It's a great thing to sing and I always say that you can't beat a good Requiem! If you're in the vicinity of Watford Colosseum next Saturday do come along - every ticket sale reduces the loss a little! It will be good and very dramatic!
