Polling day in Oxford
I was most impressed today at the activity level of the Labour party activists, we had three different leaflets through the door today, one before I left for work at 8am. As this is a backblip I can report that it was well rewarded, with 65% of the vote going to Annelise Dodds, so now we'll see if she's as good a constituency MP as her predecessor Andrew Smith, who retired after serving this community as MP since 1983. Having his support probably didn't hurt for this election. Fascinating results, this constituency is no longer the only little island of red in a sea of blue in this part of the world, which I like. Let's hope that our politicians will be able to compromise for the benefit of everyone, rather than playing power games.
