Gone but not forgotten
The flowers of the Snakeshead Fritillary are long gone but the dry stems persist with the seed capsule atop. Just a couple of seeds left. Below ground the bulb stores it's energy for next year.
A quiet day at home, managed to lose the whole morning to paperwork and insurance sorting but have promised myself that tomorrow will be a day off. On a brief visit to the allotment Jacinta and I harvested a few veg and I prepared some ground for the overdue transplanting of lee seedlings. Also today I discovered that the cat mews loudest when carrying a dead bird in through the catflap :-/
Hot chocolate and Fawlty Towers with Jamie now before bedtime.
PS. Big thanks to everyone who liked and commented and hearted yesterday's butterfly blip - almost made the front page :-)
