Happy 80th!

Our local outdoor swimming pool opened in 1937 so today it held a fun day and evening pool party to celebrate its 80th anniversary.

We spent a good part of the day there with Sophie, Chris and Kate who joined us after her morning at work. There were lots of activities and live music, including this marching mariachi band, which Sophie absolutely loved. As you can see, they dressed for the occasion and marched all round the pool while playing, including through the children's splash area here.

We took Sophie back again for a couple of hours this evening and she enjoyed dancing to more live bands.

I'm delighted to say the day has been blessed with sunny weather and the pool has been packed all day with the locals coming out in force to enjoy the celebrations.

Sophie's having another sleepover tonight while Kate & Joel have an evening at the cinema.
