Lake Las Vegas

I got to go on "date night" with my hubby tonight. I has been unbearably hot here in Las Vegas. I needed to scout out locations for a photoshoot next weekend and thought that Lake Las Vegas would be a great place. It's about 45 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip. Hard to believe that is right in the middle of the desert.

We sat on the green and watched a free showing of Independence Day (the movie). The baby came with us and the other kiddos stayed home. The weather cooperated with us and it was actually very pleasant.

From where we sat we were able to see this gorgeous bridge, the people playing on the water and all the HUGE dragon flies that were swarming around eating their evening meals. These dragonflies were the size of small animals they were so big!
