The Descent

Today our little walking group set out from North Rigton to take in Almscliff Crag. The morning was very misty and damp making surfaces rather slippery and with a very enthusiastic and lively Jimmy attached to me I decided not to climb over the crag but contoured round just below while some of our group went the hard way. It wasn't really the weather for photography. Jimmy was on a steep learning curve when it came to stiles as we encountered just about every type but he gamely managed them all - now sound asleep next to me on the sofa, he can be made tired! At the end of our walk we had a lovely social lunch at the Square and Compass. Can recommend it! The extras is a view of the crag and a level crossing which kept me waiting quite a long time for two trains to pass.
