Racing Cars
The museum was an ideal place for visitors to shelter from the continuous heavy rain although taking photos was not easy due to the crowds but it was comparatively easy to take a photo of the racing car mounted on the wall
I couldn’t help contrasting the little Formula 3 racing car with those now being driven in Formula 1 races.  The car was built in 1952 with a 500cc motor bike engines and several former F1 World Champions, including Sir Jackie Stewart started their careers in similar cars.  It seems very basic particularly in comparison to David Coulthard’s 2006 Red Bull car (extra) with all the mechanical and electrical components which are now considered normal in racing cars.  In those early days Jackie Stewart, Stirling Moss and other famous champions  who raced in similar cars would not then have had the radio support with large teams offering advice like racing drivers have today as they race at high speeds with their high powered engines.  Nor would they have had all the safety equipment that is now essential nor be able to practise on  simulators like that which was attracting crowds beside the car. 
I think I could drive that old car although not at speed or with skill, but would be totally flummoxed in the Red Bull.
