But thanks for the kind messages yesterday. 

That really is spectacularly awful.  The trouble with the bus on days like this is that it's even slower, being full of people who would otherwise cycle and walk.  So I cycled, and got very wet.  On the way home I was fully soaked through to the skin for the first time in years.
