Matisse & His Egyptian Curtain
We went to Boston's Museum of Fine Arts today to see their current exhibit Matisse in the Studio -- a fascinating collection of his paintings and collages alongside many of the personal possessions which inspired his work. This is his painting, Interior with Egyptian Curtain alongside the actual Egyptian tent curtain which inspired it. The show was extremely crowded, and we didn't spend as much time there as we were planning to -- we will return at a later date when the novelty has hopefully worn off!
The extra is a shot of the serenely beautiful Garden of the Heart of Heaven -- A Japanese garden designed by Kinsaku Nakane which is installed outside the museum's walls near the Fenway. It provided a much appreciated respite from the tumult indoors!
