Ramblings from Zambia....

John Laing compound kids

This morning I had to go and do the 'fitness' test for my vehicle.  I was told to go around 6am even though the offices don't open until 8am!  Am glad I did.....managed to get it done by 11am!

Then I had to take my boss and a couple of others to a funeral - one of the ministers from our church died yesterday, and they wanted to go to the funeral home.  The house was in John Laing compound in Lusaka - its an extremely rocky place - large rocks all over the place, driving is a nightmare!  We reached as near the house as we could and I waited while the others went in.

Of course, a crowd of children came to see the 'mzungu'.  We had a bit of a chat about why they were not at school (they go to afternoon school), and then we had some fun taking pictures while others played football!  I liked this picture because it gives you an idea of the type of place it was - small houses built beside each other with large rocks in between!  The kids were great!
