Glastonbury

Last night we had great fun in the Winding Lake bar, Barbara with some help from Simone piled up all the plastic glasses and bottles, it was ridiculously funny at the time, the photo bottom right killed us, I call it Darth Fader. Rachael and I stayed up till gone 4.

Simone and Sally were surprised that I was keen to get up in the morning, after Alka seltzer, Coke and chocolate I was able to power through.

Sally went to Jamie Cullum, we wanted to go but I needed to meet Max to give him a car park pass so we missed it.

Simone suggested the Dropkick Murphys who were really good, Irish punk rock from Massachusetts, even had a piper on stage, their sound wasn't good for some reason which was a shame.

We stayed at the Other Stage for Rag n Bone Man who was excellent, beautiful voice, he mainly sings low but has a great high range too, he was visibly humbled by the experience which was endearing, he said it was one of the best days of his life.

We met up with Sally afterwards and went to Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes at The John Peel Stage, a band Max likes and plays in the car, what a gig! Great energy, songs and performance, a women only crowd surfing session and lots of speaking up for injustice and inequality.

We stayed at John Peel for the Killers who were a not so secret secret gig, it was really packed and hot and we waited 30 minutes, Simone and I stayed for 3 songs, my back was hurting from all the standing so we left Sally there and decided to catch the second half of Chic at the Pyramid, excellent! We met Emma and John there and had a dance, it was so good, they played Let's Dance, Le Freak, Good Times etc....

We met up with Trudy, Barbara, Rachael, another Rachel and walked up the hill to watch Ed Sheeran, it was nice all being together at the end, Ed was good and I like some of the songs but personally I didn't think he should have been headlining, his show lacked dynamics and was all rather samey.

It's been quite a day!
