Looming Large

I looked today for a subject for Tiny Tuesday. Instead I found this.

It's growing on top of a gatepost we pass on our walk to the end of the track. No idea what sort of fungus it is. It sort of suits its pedestal at the entry to the 'big house', a forbidding looking place. 

I won't chance my luck by writing any more, I'm on my second attempt at this. Goodnight all.
