Ram

So, a department store have installed this bronze ram slap bang in the wide entry to one entrance of their shop. It is rather a beautiful beast, with an etched argyle pattern, and a rump stamp of the shops initials. Also, there is a coin slot in the centre of his back, but no information on where any coins dropped into that slot might end up.

I wonder what has caused the shop to put a heavy obstruction in its entrance after so many, many years of leaving it open. The coin slot makes me think that this ram has been repurposed. I mean, surely the store would not ask for donations for itself, and if they were collecting for charity, they would make more of a display.

It is intriguing, and also rather a beautiful object, with a lovely face.
