Linseed in Flower
Basil and I spent two hours in a poppy field this morning taking myriads of photos of the poppies. View a selection of my poppy photos on flickr.
The field was so easy to find. Right next door to the footpath along the old Shepshed Railway Line. Thank you Dr Beeching, not.
But before we started on the poppies, I noticed that the field across the path was planted with blue linseed, pictured. Quite a lot of land in the area is under linseed.
I shall definitely be bringing Basil up there again. It's a very good walk.
We called in on Joy, who is looking SO much better than she did last year when she was having her knees done. She wonders now why she waited so long. She has a new lease of life and can get about much more easily now.
Then to Sue and Kal, where we took our tea outside in the garden because her neighbour Kev was bringing his dog Dexter round. Dexter isn't fully house trained, but they're hoping.
Grey and cloudy, but the threatened rain has not materialised. The Met Office app showed that we were on the edge of the expected rain area. Mind you, the Met Office app forecasts rain starting later tonight and lasting all day tomorrow.
