Connect and disconnect

It was a company trip to Ponza and Palmarola; hydrofoil to Ponza followed by a day on Giuseppe's boat. It was so interesting to see how people behave when they are not in the work enviroment.
After the first anchor stop on Palmarola,  something went wrong with one of the engine's starting motors. A remedy was eventually found by poor Giuseppe who, after much sweating in the engine room, if you could call it  a room and  while he sweated,  in crystal blue, fish laden water, four people took to playing cards and it did occur to me that they might have been anywhere at all, so engrossed they were in their game, instead of being in one of the most beautiful places in the world.
Today's blip shows a moment, towards the end of the trip, when everyone's thoughts were somewhere else. Hence the title connect and disconnect.
I temporarily recovered from my deep black hole moden that I've been sunk in for many months, ever since my birthday. 
On the way home in the hydrofoil, the players continued with cards, whooping and squealing like liitle kids on a school outing in spite of their average age being well over 40!
It was a great day and one way or another we all had fun and got to know each other better.
