In search of cool
As the Florentine plain baked at 35C we drove up into the Apennines in search of cool water. We found it at Premicuore at the Shouting Waterfall (La Cascata Urlante).
It took a while to find the shouting one - and the water was so low that no shouting was needed to speak above the roar. This is lower down the river where a brave soul leapt into the deep cool waters. I was more modest in my approach.
The drive back down and through the heat of the Mugello was intense, particularly as we were stuck behind a timber truck and trailer bring wood down from the mountains.
