Secret places

I do like to find new places by chance. This is the Ulverston canal, just behind Booths. According to a large ornate sign it is only 1 and a quarter miles long; it was opened in 1976 and was in use until trade stopped in 1916. This morning it was very peaceful apart from mallards amongst the water lilies.
