Writer in Exile

Sometimes it's necessary to shake someone very firmly by the hand.

The Kurdish people exude an incredible warmth. Mahmoud is originally from Iraq, but was forced to leave. We found that we had a great deal in common, about all kinds of things. A wonderful encounter that was very much the highlight of my day. 

He's a prolific writer, but his books are only available in Kurdish and Arabic.
