Hay in the Field

The sun blazed down, hot, second day in a row. There's hay to put up, and we went after it. We drove down to Elkton, 30 miles away, down to the grass fields on the down slope of the hot Coast Range Mountains, down the rugged mountains carved above the Umpqua River. We toiled in the heat, the dust and the sweat, feeling...well, something...not sure what.

Yes, I know what it is. It's a tight harmony with the land. Maybe we will be here full time.
