Baby Swallow
Every year, swallows complete their 9000 mile journey to the UK and a pair of them make home in our small outhouse. They proceed to fetch materials to build their nest and build a home where they can raise chicks. The chicks then hatch, and the frenzy of activity continues, as the chicks' demands for food increase. Until, finally, one day they are ready to fly the nest.
Today, this chick fledged. Literally about a minute after I took this shot. The maiden flight was clumsy, but hopefully it's now mastered the art of flying.
