Tui in Japonica

This tui was having a meal of japonica pollen when I went for a walk at lunchtime. I rushed back in to get my camera so I could take his photo.

He wasn't very obliging and wouldn't come out from behind the branches, so although he's in focus he has got some out of focus branches disfiguring him a little. The one just above his eye particularly annoyed me but at least it's a clear shot of his lovely red eye and his white 'bow tie'

Tuis have black beaks, so you can see just how much pollen he has been poking his beak into.
