Big Son and Me
It was a very low key affair. No start and finish banners, no claxon to send us off, no race numbers or helmet time chips. We just went into Evans Bike Shop where they signed us out, gave us a map and sent us out the door. Very strange.
Chris has a new road bike and needs to put some miles on it so he decided to join us on our ride today. I got this nice Mother and son selfie before we set off. He stayed with us for the first twenty minutes then he was off. He finished about 45mins before us.
The route was good (just one big hill in the middle) and it was well marked for most of the way. We lost the arrows for the last few kms and ended up doing 59km instead of 54.
There was the same amount of razzmatazz at the end of the ride. We went in the shop got signed back in and that was it. No medal or goodie bag :-(((
It wasn't what we expected but it was a good ride. I'm a bit tired now though.
