Moffat Scenic Run
It appears that the two days of classic car showing in Moffat is a pretty big deal. Keats is a year too young to be able to take part in the main show (with about 1000 cars) on Sunday, but the Saturday scenic run (with a 'mere' 300) is open to classics and 'interesting' cars, so we snaffled a place on that.
Really nice day out, arriving to an almost full field, taking our place behind a lovely Ford Cortina, waiting for the off by wandering around the bits of metal on show. From a Dodge Charger in full General Lee regalia, to a few other Minis (including one fab woody estate), there was a ridiculous variety on show. People waving as we drove by, roads closed off in Moffat with locals out in their hundreds to watch and take photos, it all started to feel a bit like you were some sort of celebrity. Great to take part in, and we've got our first grille plate to start a collection, and Keats performed perfectly. Next year we'll be old enough for the main show as well...
High-tailed it back to Edinburgh (with another run over Talla) to be home in time for food, then out to the Usher Hall for a showing of Raiders of the Lost Ark, with live backing music provided by the RSNO.
If Carlsberg did Saturdays.
