A Quilt

Quilters and fibre artists put on a show (2017 Round Valley Quilt & Fiber Arts Show) to raise money for scholarships, and various volunteering organizations were raffling quilts to raise funds. The artistry and craft on show was of a very high standard. More on Flickr.
Yesterday started out well with wildlife viewing. Sixteen elk and two creatures too dark to identify in the predawn gloom. A skunk which quickly disappeared into the undergrowth by the river thank goodness. And the beavers were busy doing beaverish things again. I didn't take a camera as it was so early and dark. The air is full of dust and smoke in the heat-haze. So not even one Blip yesterday.
We sang for the funeral of Herb Erhart this morning. He led a full life and was always busy. His daughter Vickie read his eulogy compiled from Herb's meticulous record keeping. He was a World War Two veteran earning a Bronze Star; working in the building trade with his father; married a wonderful woman, Lucy, whom we buried in February this year; qualified as a family doctor (GP) with a specialty in geriatrics whilst working and raising a large family; he continued building things. I did say he was always busy.
