San Juan

The public holiday is actually tomorrow, but the 'verbena' (the eve before the festival) is tonight. Not my favourite festival it must be said as it involves lots of firecrackers and fireworks that go on well into the early hours of the morning. The 'coca' is very nice though - who could resist aniseed flavored cake? This pic doesn't do it justice but if you imagine little firework parties going off on every corner around the city till around 4am you get the idea!
