Gull and Chicks

After my swim on Friday morning I went down to the harbour to see how the nesting gulls were doing. There are two chicks in the nest I have been observing and they look as though they must have hatched shortly after we left for our holiday in Canada as they are already putting on a bit of weight. What surprised me though was the limited numbers of chicks in the other gull nests. I only saw one other gull chick and a couple of baby cormorants. As they are literally hundreds of nesting gulls I had expected to see a whole nursery of chicks but perhaps they will arrive later.
