International Yoga Day (IYD) ; it was first established in 2015.

Prime minister Modi a man who puts a lot of effort into his public relations is who proposed creating an IYD to the UN. He was all over the news doing his yoga asanas with hundreds of supporters.

Farmers too were on the news saying they don't need a designated yoga day, they are doing their own version of yoga from dawn until sundown while facing huge obstacles in creating their livelihoods and without any support from the government. India has seen the highest number of farmers' suicides in 2017.
