Winter Magic Festival

It was a lovely sunny day today for Katoomba's Winter Magic Festival, celebrating winter solstice. The crowds seem to grow year by year and I did hear 40,000 mentioned. I parked in Leura and caught a train, which was absolutely packed (definitely the sardines-in-a-tin kind of packed) and thankfully Sydney Trains had put on a few extra trains to cope. 

I've included 6 photos here which reflect the Blue Mountains community spirit, but I am saddened to see so many groups now in the parade that come from elsewhere and have nothing whatsoever to do with the local community and, in my opinion, weaken the local nature of the festival.
