Flower Friday
I often blip flowers, but rarely manage to coincide with Flower Friday, so here's a change.
We have astrantias of various shades of white, pink and red in the garden. They do tend to be thugs in the border, but they are so beautiful that I can't bring myself to remove any.
I've had a productive day with work on the computer for the festival, in the garden and at the shops, ready for guests on Sunday. I don't plant annuals except in the centre turning circle at the top of our drive. The job for this year is long overdue, what with a trip to the US, jet lag, a Folk Festival and the recent dental horrors. Today I managed to put all the new plants in the border. That leaves some tubs to plant, but at least the front of the house looks tidier. (This has nothing to do with the visitors on Sunday, you understand.........)
It has been marvellous to feel well. I even slipped in a drive out to Sewingshields Farm to assess whether we can ask walkers to drive up the farm lane for the start of a walk in October. Part of the lane has been resurfaced and the rest is fine if you take care, so that's good.
Today's image was taken with the little Lumix, point and shoot camera. I have edited it to bring out the central flower.
