A new TV

Obviously this is not a Blip of our new TV. It is a Blip of Matt & Amy sitting on our 'un-sunny' sun-terrace Mr Sunshine, where have you gone? with a glass of Prosecco and a bottle of beer. Our old TV was in the process of dying and (normally Ann would have waited until it was completely dead before buying a new one) as we have 'airbnb' people who are paying a lot of money staying in our house when Ann is off on her hols at the end of July, we thought we'd better get a new TV.

Fortunately Ann's very techie nephew Dan (who has just got a first in Engineering from Bristol Uni – mega boast here! - #obviouslydoesn'tgethisbrainsfromAnn) advised us on what to get.

Unfortunately, Ann knew she wouldn't be able to set it up by herself. …............But she had a very clever, cunning plan........................ She invited her two 'young' friends round for Prosecco & beer.

The very clever Matt, set up the TV in about 2 mins and was well impressed with Dan's choice. Apparently, we can do loads of stuff on it – tweet, FB, send stuff to it from our phone, etc, etc,? Why would we want to do that? The youngsters were laughing at Ann. They said, 'You're not going to use 90% of the things on this TV are you?...................................


…......................Duh, it's a TV. Ann's going to watch Corrie and EastEnders and maybe a bit of Jeremy Kyle? Ann grew up in the era when having a TV was a privilege, when there was only 3 channels and when 'God Save the Queen' was played at 10.30pm when TV closed down for the night.

Anyway, one needs to move with the times.............................. so she has told her lovely young
friends, that for two weeks, she will practise watching normal TV and practise watching stuff on all the catch-up channels. How amazing is this – being able to watch stuff without having to record anything or watch it on an ipad/laptop?

….................And then she might have to ply them with more Prosecco & beer and learn what other clever things TVs can do these days???????
