On the Templar trail
This tower is all that remains of the Knights Templar preceptory at Temple Bruer in Lincolnshire. I've planned to visit many times, but never made it - until today. The sarcophagus lid at the bottom of the shot has a carved figure, presumably of one of the Templars.
There is a story that speaks of a tunnel which goes from the preceptory to a village some 8 miles away, where there used to be a castle and possibly a priory. The tunnel is believed to go under my friends' house and garden. They've never allowed me to try a bit of digging and so the mystery remains - perhaps the REAL Holy Grail is down there ................
