As one door closes, another one closes.
'Posh Boy' from Edinburgh came up to Port Appin to buy the old Austin from the local breaker. Never one to miss an opportunity Mr McJunkit doubled the price and charged triple time for the labour. Another two weeks or so and he was going to burn it out for scrap.
I wonder if the extra is the Austin that's just been rescued. Seen in Campbeltown, 1960. I knew I'd seen one in one of my photo collection shots for my West Coast Motors book. A sunny day and the photographer had just spent the night sleeping in his A35 van! (a friend of mine). His next photo stop was Fort William.
