Bowyer's Stream, Mt Somers Track

I took the Inland Scenic Route on my way home from Christchurch today, stopping by Staveley for refreshments, which I enjoyed at the start of the Mt Somers Track.

After viewing the cascading water from the bridge shown, I walked down to the picnic area and then down to the stream bed to get this shot. I had to balance my tripod on the huge foreground boulder, and I'm really glad I put my waterproof boots on when I left the house this morning!

This was shot with a Fuji 16mm f/1.4 prime, which I've currently got on loan from a fellow X-Series shooter. I used a circular polariser and 3 stop ND filter to slow the shutter speed.
