Two eras

Around 10pm this evening A4 class 6009 'Union of South Africa' sits hot and panting in Shalford station, patiently waiting to be given fresh cold water as a modern diesel multiple unit approaches. I know, given the choice which I would prefer to travel on! 
I apologize for the grainy, slightly wobbly image, but by this time it was 10pm and getting dark, and to be honest had it not been this time of year (longest day) I think I would have struggled to get any images at all, which is a shame as theses locos are my favorite with their iconic Art Deco styling. I have added a more conventional shot of it approaching in my extras.
