Summer Tourist Season

Myrtle Beach agencies say between 14 and 16 million people visit the Grand Strand (Myrtle Beach and adjacent destinations) each year.  Those huge numbers are not divided equally among the 12 months so the summer months produce lots of traffic, amusements, busy restaurants, tacky glitz, and  high occupancy rates in hotels.  This photo shows a little of the setting and contrasts among natural palm trees, high rise condos and hotels, and amusements to attract tourists' dollars.  The bad part has been 4 shootings with 9 injuries in the last 5 days.I'm usually glad to be able to choose the times to be on the highways or enjoy amenities of living close to a busy beach strand and area.
