A Sunday drive to Ampleforth Abbey, for no other reason than just to go and take a look.

It's only about 30 minutes from us and we hadn't been before.

The monastery buildings were impressive and very eclectic as buildings have been added over the years presumably to cope with the demand from parents who wish to send their children to the college. With such an overcast day the light wasn't good enough for a blip of the monastery.

These cows or are they bulls(?) were predicting rain and these two keep their eyes on us constantly until we walked on.
