Ardrossan Sunset

Arran - Fort William Day 0

A few days cycling the southern half of the Caledonian Way with John McRobbie. Wonderful sunset with Arran, tomorrow's start point, in the background.

Highlights: unexpected home cooked meal on arrival in our AirBnB. Very welcome after an arduous journey from the far west of Ireland.

Lowlights: arduous journey from west of Ireland, with a 4hrs flight delay from Knock to Edinburgh screwing up the plan to catch the ferry to Arran for our first night.

What else? Our BnB was the last house in Ardrossan before it morphs into Saltcoats. And Saltcoats is named after an earlier industry of extracting salt from seawater, carried out in former times in seafront cottages.
