Air Crash
I recall an interview with Stirling Moss (motor racing legend who survived crashes galore during his racing career, not to mention his 2010 fall down a lift shaft at his home and of course all of those speed cop jokes such as "who do you think you are, Stirling Moss?") where he commented on the fact that many race spectators only come to the circuits to see the crashes.
He may well have been right as regards motor racing however this weekend I and a few pals attended an air show in Fife. Never having been to one before we of course neglected to take the essentials such as sun cream, folding chairs, binoculars and in my case a telephoto lense.
Great fun though despite the 12 hours standing, the sun burn and the images of iconic aeroplanes which in the final analysis resemble distant seagulls.
I have to report that no-one at the air show was there for the crashes.
