Tour of Britian
The race passed my gate. A small and growing crowd were there by midday and when I saw the hoards arriving it was obvious the I'd have to walk a bit. Most of the present were cyclists, who parked their bikes on every available inch. The road in front of me is too straight and level for a good photograph anyway. I didn't go far. Just down past the old church and found a place where, away from a crowd, I'd have a clear view.
Once again I failed to calculate the light for the shutter speed I needed... you'd think I'd have learnt by now! After the seemingly endless string of support motor bikes and cars preceding the cyclists I had only a few seconds to focus on and snap the leaders. The underexposed photo, once recovered is OK but, with four lonely riders, seemed to lack the flavour of the event.
Only 2 minutes later, came a dark cloud... and the main group of cyclists! Oh well.. this images says a little more about the event but has had to be heavily edited in photoshop. Not my normal photography, but what I did today.
After the 20 seconds it took the group to swoosh by, all the support cars with with spare wheels and bikes on their roof tops followed. One for every rider! I was almost home by the time they had all passed!
Do have a look at the link for the other image of the leaders. I value feedback, both positive and negative. I know Lady D will swing me one from afar!
So that is it.. Another event finished in a flash and I could take the dogs out for a good long walk.
