Wound up in Wexford

Long-jawed orb-weaver spider (I think)

Another really hot day.  We did 3 loads of washing, but apart from that, we have done almost nothing all day except sit in the garden room and read.

It wasn't until nearly 7.30 that I felt able to wander down the garden looking for a blip.  Despite the late hour, there was still one damsel fly on the pond.  My eye was caught by something running back and forth over the water, and having used my camera magnification to take some photos, I think I have identified it as a long-jawed orb-weaver spiderIt's a very pretty coloured spider.  It's not rare, but I am not aware of having seen one before - that's the wonder of blip, it really helps you to see things!

PS.  Worth looking at on the black background if you have time
