ready for lift off

One of Morecambe's famous landmarks the 'Polo Tower' is set to be demolished to make way for a shopping development. It is the last survivor of the Frontierland theme park which closed in 1990. 

I had no idea this was happening when I made the decision to go to Morecambe this morning. After a wait of 10-15 minutes we watched the crane lift the top section off. The set is in extras including 'we have lift off'. 

Then a walk along the prom and an ice cream. Lots of people had the same idea ........ must have been something to do with the weather.
