Hazard

It was dry today. Well, mostly... almost.

I had to catch the ferry back to Oban at 13:40 so I had a few hours out exploring on my rented bike.

I went as far as the southern tip of the island - opposite Oronsay. It’s a small island which you can walk over to when the tide is right out. I had planned to do that on Friday, but the wet weather...

The tide was in this morning, so I had to make do with a long distance view.

The ferry back to the mainland takes 2.5 hours. It’s only £7.15 one way, and I had a very good lunch in the restaurant to help pass the time. Steak pie, veg and chips - the kind of comfort food I don’t make often enough at home.

Mini cruise, really.

From Oban to my house is a 3 hour drive.

Colonsay? Remote? Yes, a bit.

The Blip is the road from the centre of Colonsay (Scalasaig) to the beach opposite Oronsay. All Both the roads on the island are like that, but for a population of 100 that's fine.

Experienced sheep ignore passing cyclists. Younger ones and the lambs can panic. This usually means it tries to run under the front wheel, closely followed by all its pals.
