Strawberries fair

When I was a child we had strawberries at the beginning of summer, and when they ran out the raspberries came in. Now, with the development of new varieties and the use of polytunnels, the English strawberry season seems to go on for ever. And when they have finished we fly them in from southern Europe or places even furthr afield. English strawberries definitely have the best taste and those we had at lunch time today were really good! If appearance attracts you more than taste, just look at that pattern when you cut them in half.
