Shooting Through

Running the gauntlet of the huge black backed gulls, black headed gulls and herring gulls this little puffin was shooting through. Lovely to see the puffins but harrowing to see them pounced upon with their hard fought for catch ripped from their beaks. Pufflings were being pulled out of their burrows and swallowed whole!

Inner Farne today was glittering over the water in the glorious sunshine as we neared it in 'Glad Tidings' and as we were on the 'All day Bird Watch'. Utterly fabulous with the weather being better than I've known it here ever! So much to see with the water surrounding the island heaving with guillemots, puffins, razorbills and kittiwakes all breeding here at the moment.
