Felt with embroidery
These are some of the lovely ladies I met on the Course I went on today at Burwardsley in Cheshire. The venue in a Gallery was fabulous with views spanning as far as the eye could see all over the Cheshire Plain and onwards to Ellesmere Port and we could even pick out Liverpool Cathedral and actually see it through binoculars. The course was learning how to create felt pictures and then embroider them; a sample of my finished work in Extra: Butterfly and Daisies under a hilly landscape on a sunny day!! (Need to persevere with my French Knots)! Just like today and phew, was it hot, all us ladies felt it and it was a shame that a key couldn't be found for one of the doors to let what little air there was blow through. A fan was produced but that only blew all our wool around so was banned from the workspace.
We had lunch outside and revelled in the views, found out where everyone came from and it transpired that one of the ladies used to live just up the road from where I live now in Shropshire and we share quite a few mutual friends! There were three sets of Mothers and Daughters on the Course, which was lovely. We finished off the Course making a Sheep badge which I shall be finishing off at home. Really enjoyed the course, our Tutor was excellent (I love her work) and the other crafty ladies a joy to spend time with.
After the Course I went further into Cheshire and dropped into see my Cousins, a welcome cuppa and lots of chat and catching up. Later home than I anticipated, but I've had such a lovely day.
No need to worry about Mr T though as he is being well looked after up at the Gliding Club!
