Lovely bottle from Hungary
Some of you on blip know that I have a small business importing and selling wine - and that is one of the reasons we take 'candid' pictures of our meals with the wine (or wine alone) to complement the professional bottle shots with something more real and approachable. And some days that is the only picture I take, so on blip it goes.
Kekfrankos is the Hungarian name for Blaufränkisch (also called Lemberg). It was one of the major grape varietals in the Austro Hungarian empire.
The wines are lively and fruity (cherry and blackberries) when young, and age very nicely into smooth velvety, extremely pleasing red wines. Look one up if you can :)
