Chewing gum as currency. If the local shop keepers don't have change, you get chewing gum... this was a big box - they owed me 3.50egp which probably doesn't have a gbp equivalent... usually you get one small box from the packet, today I got the packet. Coins are in short supply as they're worth more than their face value.
